Gut-Healing Hot Chocolate
Who doesn't love a warm mug of hot chocolate as a mid-afternoon treat? This cozy drink doesn't have to be a sugary indulgence. Instead of heading to the coffee shop, try this blood-sugar-balanced version you can make at home in 5 minutes.
This recipe combines two nutritional powerhouses—chocolate and bone broth—to create a comforting, protein-rich treat perfect for a cold winter's day. Bone broth delivers collagen, glucosamine, chondroitin, and other minerals that support gut and overall health. The extra-dark chocolate adds antioxidants, magnesium, and zinc, offering benefits from heart health to mental clarity.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons 85%+ dark chocolate or 1-2 tablespoons cacao powder
⅓ cup canned no-guar coconut milk
1 cup organic beef bone broth (Bonafide Provisions or Kettle & Fire are great options)
Dash of cinnamon
Directions
Melt the dark chocolate with the canned coconut milk in a small saucepan over medium heat, whisking continuously. If using cacao powder, simply whisk with the coconut milk.
Add in a dash of cinnamon and the bone broth and continue heating until warm
Enjoy!
